buddies — moldova part iii
today i got to feel what it was like to make someone’s day. i met a little boy with paralized legs. while the rest of his class was playing catch in the gym and running around, he sat alone playing with giant sized legos. i went over and sat with him for awhile. i smiled and rubbed his back and we took turn building lego towers. i’ve never seen such a genuine, excited smile in my whole life. every time he looked at me he broke out into uncontrollable smiles and giggles, like he couldn’t believe i was still there and that i chose to sit with him instead of running around with the other boys. but we had a special connection — chuck taylors.
the kids here are so amazing. i have a few more photos posted on the sweet sleep blog, check them out if you get a chance! this really is a great organization to work with.

Hannah, I knew your mad Lego skills would come in handy some day. And who knew Chucks would be such a bonding point. I love you, you’re awesome. Mom

I love that you are in Moldova right now! What is the orphanage called that ya’ll are working in? When I was there we visited a special needs orphanage and inquired about building them new beds….hmm.
Can’t wait till you get back and to see all your pictures!
