jenna and steve’s family portraits
it was a cold winter’s day but we braved the chill anyway. jenna and steve were definitely worth the numb extremities, and at least the sun was shining! i was so incredibly privileged to be the one to take these family portraits for them. steve is in the military and is being deployed on wednesday to serve one year in afghanistan and these photos are an early christmas gift to his wife since he won’t be here to celebrate on actual christmas day. i don’t know how you soldiers do it! even more so i don’t know how military wives do it!! i just can’t imagine. and as i told…

christine and sam’s engagement photos
sam, christine and i braved the cold last weekend in order to get some engagement photos done in downtown franklin. i woke up that morning to get ready to drive down there and immediately checked the temperature outside. much to my dismay, a measly 28 degrees was all it said. thank goodness the sun was shining! i think by the end of the shoot it had warmed up a good bit (either that or my adrenaline was pumping enough to distract me from the numbness of my extremities). and it definitely helped that sam and christine were both in such good spirits. i really had a great time hanging out (and…

justin + cristi!!!
some of my dearest friends, justin and cristi, got hitched in east tennessee last wednesday. after a few months of endless wedding planning stress they decided to put the traditional wedding on hold until the spring and opted for an intimate ceremony with close friends and family on the front steps of the courthouse. i was one of the privileged few who was able to witness the event and also partake in the yummy thanksgiving dinner reception at their cabin in the mountains afterwards. brilliant, i tell you! so special and so them. i love it. here are some of my favorites… make sure you click here to see the…
