lots of things to love about laura and dirk’s wedding, the fact that they happen to be awesome people aside. laura and i used to work together years ago at starbucks and now both live on the east side of nashville so it’s such a pleasure to get to spend her wedding day with her!
so, first off the amazing aVenue on 3rd ave in downtown nashville is always a treat. a historic building from the 1890’s-turned-event space….oh man. everything about that place has character. and the subtle diy style that laura chose for the decorations plus the accent lighting made this place pop! check it out to see what i mean….
laura with some help of friends and family made all these amazing paper flower center pieces from old music books. they were absolutely the hit of the party — everyone raved and i believe some people even took some home as favors. love this idea!
laura is an artist and does a lot of live painting for events so naturally she had a live painter that painted through the entire event. it was so cool to see how both the paintings shifted and evolved throughout the course of the day. amazing!
laura and dirk — i’m so happy for the both of you that you found each other! dirk, i’m only sad it took till the wedding day to actually meet you in person! you are both fantastic human beings and i wish you all the best in your marriage. i’ll see you at ugly mugs soon :)
