melissa + houston’s wedding!!
dum dum da dum (to the tune of here comes the bride)!!!! this wedding makes me hum a little :) i’ve been looking forward to this since nearly a year ago when melissa and houston first met with me that fateful day at starbucks. after a long and crazy fall full of an insane amount of weddings, i was finally able to shoot their engagement photos and, on top of it being a gorgeous fall day, it also happened to be a really fun day — i had such a great time shooting with them. needless to say, it made me pretty stoked about their wedding!! cue photos from this past weekend :)
houston checking out melissa’s dress. “wow, that beading is really awesome. wait, is that what’s it called? beading??” nice :)
oh, these flowers!! orange is one of those tricky colors…it can be really bad or it can be absolutely stunning. with flowers it’s ALWAYS the latter…
we recreated this wedding photo above from a shot we got during the engagement session — pictured below:
the reception was at cumberland unversity’s baird chapel. i had never been there before so i was totally blown away when i walked in. what a cool, old, historic, beautiful building.
houston’s groom’s cake was a fish (a bass maybe?!?! a rainbow trout??? i can’t identify types of fish…) and was INCREDIBLY executed. as per usual, i never got the name of the cake maker so once i track that down i will post it immediately.
so, so, so great to be out shooting weddings again after a long break for my own nuptials :) thanks melissa and houston for reminding me once again why i love my job — you guys were fantastic!! happy honeymoon and a blessed marriage!
