christian + stephanie are some of the sweetest/funniest people i know so, needless to say, when they asked me to shoot their wedding i was über stoked. christian and his brother eric (who’s wedding i shot last fall in portland, maine) are long time buds of my husband from the south carolina days. when christian spent a brief stint living in st. louis a few years ago he would spend many a weekend here in nashville kicking it with us, so through that he got to be a good friend of mine as well. when he moved to chicago and met “a cute girl that lives in the apartment across the way…” we knew something was up. when we finally met stephanie in person it was completely obvious that they were meant for each other. she is a spectacular woman in every way! here are some of the pics from their wedding in holland, michigan…

wiping that tear like a pro.
a big thunderstorm rolled through right before the ceremony and cleared up about an hour into the outdoor reception. it stayed nice for about half an hour before yet another storm rolled through with super high winds that (in addition to blowing over the fauxtaux booth — yikes!!!!! — which somehow came out unscathed) was whipping through the tent causing all sorts of destruction. luckily, the restaurant had an extra room free so that we could move the party inside and stay dry. mad, mad props to Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant for being so accommodating, kind and keeping the smiles up all night. kudos!!
as you can see the weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of these party people.
