Franklin Road Academy fundraiser
emily borders–a sweet young lady i met on a sweet sleep trip last year–rang me up a few weeks back asking if i could photograph a havana nights-themed fundraising dinner/silent auction/live auction she was organizing for franklin road academy. heck yes, i said! i’ve got the winter slow-season blues and am sooo anxious for next week’s chicago trip to kick off the “shooting-photos-like-a-chicken-with-my-head-cut-off-season.” i even participated in the silent auction and WON!!! i never win at those things! i was pretty darn stoked.
and as if all of that was not enough, in addition to participating in that event, the band playing for the after-dinner party and dancing, Big Thrill, contacted me about doing a few shots for them while i was at it. we all had about 20 minutes to spend before the event to get a group shot. the lighting wasn’t very good but i was able to pull out a few decent shots. but, if i do say so myself, some of the live shots i got were just spot on. they looked and sounded incredible, such great energy, and the stage lighting was really fun.
thanks emily and FRA for having me out! and thanks larry and Big Thrill for spending some time with me as well. you guys were blast. enjoy your photos, hope you can put them to great use!
