last night i had the pleasure of shooting the fundraiser event “stars and guitars” for Franklin Road Academy. i shot the event last year via a connection i had from a trip with Sweet Sleep in ’08 and was so pleased to be asked back this year to shoot again. This year the event was held at the ever fab Loveless Barn — i LOVE this place (and their biscuits)!! this is my 2nd time shooting there and i’ve just this past week been talking with a bride about shooting her wedding there this year. yessssss….
hatch show print — you make everything magical.
i LOVE the light in this tent. rotating lights with customized gobos. it seriously added such a great feeling to the atmosphere. lights will make or break ya!
the chair ladies — they make it all happen.
look at the lines for this silent auction! i thought things were gonna come to blows between folks on a few of these items! it was great!
live auction — this guy talks a million miles a minute!
Mr. Gentry of Montgomery Gentry has a kid at FRA (and his wife is one of the chair ladies) so they agreed to play the event. i’ve never deliberately listened to their music, though i did recognize one song, but i have to say….they were amazing! i mean, really. they sounded great, their vocals were spot on, their songs were super catchy. i’m not a huge country music fan but i think i may have to add them to my list of rare pop country finds that i actually truly enjoy. not to mention they’re fabulous entertainers….they were really fun to shoot.
anyway, thanks to miss emily (who is living in paris for a year — i hate you) for hooking me up with this event last year and for bringing me back again. it was great fun and the event was like a well-oiled machine. i was so impressed by the seamless transitioning from one segment to the other. congrats on the most successful fundraiser yet!

Again I love your photography, and you made me feel as if I was at the event. All I need to do is put on a Montgomery Gentry cd and I'm there.
