this july i have yet again an incredible opportunity to use my skills and passion for photography to help raise awareness that will impact change. many of you may remember the missions i documented last year while on trips with an organization called Sweet Sleep, a nashville-based non-profit dedicated to building beds for the poorest orphaned children around the world (see slideshows handicapped orphanage in orhei,and the orphans of drochia).
now, my photos are gracing everything from the covers of their brochures to the banners on their website–even the walls of their offices!!– and are helping people worldwide understand and respond to the plight of the underprivileged children living in abominable conditions on this planet.

the why/where…
this year Sweet Sleep is expanding their reach outside the walls of eastern europe and i am privileged to be a part of their first ever bed-building trip to Uganda, Africa.
i am committed, as a volunteer of my time and services, to help in the effort to raise the necessary funds to go and build beds for over 400 children that are currently sleeping on the floor in 2 different orphanages outside Kampala.
this boy immediately curled up and fell asleep when we presented him with his new Sweet Sleep bed.
