katie and b
i had so much fun shooting some last minute engagement photos for katie and b yesterday. they made the suggestion of shooting at rocketown which i immediately loved. there is just so much texture and color to work with there. we never did get a response to our request for permission to shoot there, but decided to go for it anyway and it worked out. i’m a big fan of natural light and get a little nervous when shooting indoors using a flash. it can get a little tricky. but these photos turned out great, katie and b looked like rock stars, and we didn’t get kicked out of rocketown.…

31st anniversary
“it’s a rare condition in this day and age to read any good news on the newspaper page.” …anyone? ok nevermind. anyway, my parents celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary the other night, i’m proud to say. they took my sister and me with them for a cruise on the general jackson showboat. couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening. about 69 degrees in the middle of june and a perfect sunset! so congratulations to my parents, the most awesome people ever! they’ve come further than most people ever dream to come and they are lucky to have each other. and me and rach are even luckier to have them!!…

father’s day photos…(and my new lens)
when i started a photography business, i never banked on mother’s and father’s days being a great time for business. apparently it is! and even better for me when they’re sweet little faces like these. the Sonkin boys, Ben and Scott were patient enough with me to allow me into their little worlds for about half an hour so i could get some shots for their dad for father’s day. also (for all you techies out there) a grateful shout out to my new canon 50mm 1.4 for these shots. as much as i would have loved the L series 1.2, i’m not that rich just yet (and i stress…
